Students, teachers and veterans were all in attendance for Johnson- Brock Public Schools’ Veterans Day Program on Friday. While laughter and applause filled the gymnasium throughout the program, keynote speaker Sergeant Douglas Hoff made sure to impart words of wisdom for the audience.

Sergeant First Class Al E. Armstrong has been the Commander of Auburn’s American Legion Post 23 for five years, but before that, he served the American Military for 32 years, 4 months and 22 days. A handful of stories were told during an interview with Armstrong over the weekend, and in honor of Veterans Day, we would like to share some of those with our readers.
