Watermeier: Revenue Shortfall, Prison and Tax Reform Top Issues in 2018 Legislature

Three days into the 2018 Unicameral session, District 1 Sen. Dan Watermeier presented thoughts on this year’s major issues.
Nebraska’s financial condition, prison reform, property tax relief, and income and property tax reform will generate a lot of discussion, he said.
“The reduction in revenue forecast is first and foremost,” noted Watermeier. The Syracuse resident is entering his sixth year representing Southeast Nebraskans.
