Water Boil Order Issued for Peru Residents After Additional Water Added to City System

As of late Monday afternoon, March 18, the City of Peru has issued a boil order. It follows additional water supplies to the city’s water tower. A boil order is issued whenever new water is added to a public water system.

At a meeting late in the afternoon of March 18, Renee Critser, Nemaha County emergency management director, asked residents to continue conserving water as well as being patient.

“You have done great in conserving water,” Critser stated.

An extra water test is being done daily to ensure it is not contaminated, the emergency management director noted.
