Resilience of Brownville, Nemaha County Residents Lauded During Freedom Day

Nemaha County has never been stronger, Bailey Bindle shared Saturday morning, July 3.

The Brownville Village Board trustee gave the keynote address at the Patriotic Program. It followed the mid-morning parade as part of the village’s Freedom Day celebration. Bindle is a Falls City native and Peru State College graduate.

She expressed gratefulness for everyone to be able to gather together again. Bindle was astounded how residents of the tight-knit village came together during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The negativity we consume overcomes the positive. We need five times the positivity to overcome negativity. We kept going in our greatest time of need. We helped one another. We held on to hope. We learned over the last 18 months that time is precious, serendipity is a gift and our village is vital,” she recalled.
