Peru Residents Have Favorable Weather for Weekend’s Old Man River Days Festivities

Friday through Sunday, May 31 through June 2 brought seasonal weather during Old Man River Days, reported Vanessa Sherman. She is president of the Peru Community Impact Group (PCIG) which planned the various events.

Sherman states the morning car show was well attended with 17 vehicles including cars, trucks and motorcycles. Winners were Bruce Sherman for car, Robert Dean for truck and Tim Potter for motorcycle. The cornhole tournament consisted of five teams. The championship trophy went to Mark and Jennifer Sherman of Humboldt.

“Both events we expect to bring back next year!,” she notes.

An awesome amount of entertainment was provided throughout the weekend, Sherman said. Ensembles included Sum Guise, Sherman’s Midlife Audio Graphic (Karaoke), Curtis Wayne Stroud & Justified, Bucka Ruse and the Dylan Bloom Band.
