No Change in Electric, Water and Wastewater Rates During 2019 Auburn Board of Public Works customers will not

Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) customers will not experience increases to electric, water and wastewater rates in the coming year.

Thursday night, Nov. 8, the board approved the 2019 rate and miscellaneous fee packet. There have not been increases in water rates since 2009 or wastewater rates since 2011. A minimal electrical rate increase was in place during 2018. General Manager Dave Hunter recommended leaving those rates as currently. In the miscellaneous fee packet, a statement was included that if a customer wants a date specific meter reading, a $20 fee is being charged. It also applies if a customer disputes a billing meter reading and wants the utility to reread the meter, and it is found the reading BPW used is correct.
