Johnson-Brock FFA Has Success in District and State Competition

This year’s FFA district and state competitions have looked a little different. Because of COVID all of the events took place online. Despite how different things were this year, the Johnson-Brock FFA chapter did well on the state level.

The Johnson-Brock FFA chapter had many teams advance to the State Career Development Events FFA conference.

The food science, floriculture, meats judging, agriscience, Junior livestock judging and environmental and natural resources team all were able to participate in the state competition. There were many individuals achieving ribbons.

The agriscience team was the state runner-up among 94 participating teams with Kinsley Oestmann placing in the Top 10 of 363 individuals. Zac Hawley and Anna Lillenas both received purple ribbons and Lleyton Behrends received a blue. The food science team placed third of 33 teams with Audrey Sandfort third among 132 individuals. Maggie and Natalie Clark both earned blue ribbons with Abigail Hodges meriting a red. On the floriculture team Oestmann was awarded a white. On the environmental and natural resources team Maggie Clark got a blue with Brooklyn Epler receiving a white. In the State Leadership Development Events, Abigail Hodges participated in Junior public speaking. She was a silver medalist.
