Hundreds Get First Look at July 28th Honeybees in the Heartland Sculptures
Several hundred people of all ages came to the Nemaha County Fairgrounds Sunday night, July 28 to view the debut of 25 Honeybees in the Heartland bee sculptures. A 26th depiction is forthcoming.
“I was happy with the community coming out and enjoying it. Some could not believe all of the vehicles (parked around the fairgrounds). I am thrilled for the community! A lot of work went into it. It is absolutely amazing. It’s been an amazing journey. It was a fun night for everyone. I hope they enjoyed it. Without the sponsors and artists we wouldn’t be here,” proclaimed Leslie Clark, project director.
The celebration had been moved from Legion Memorial Park because of anticipated rainfall in the late afternoon and early evening.
Clark praised the work of Kyle and Daniele Vohland of Icon Poly of Gibbon, who manufactured the castings.
