GSS-Auburn, Longs Creek Village Assisted Living Have Reopened to Indoor Visitations

New visitation guidelines have been established at Good Samaritan Society-Auburn and Longs Creek Village Assisted Living.

Families and friends are being requested to stop by daily between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Both facilities are limiting visitors to three family members or friends. All who enter must be able to adhere to the following principles: screening upon entrance, hand hygiene, wearing masks and social distancing, when possible maintaining six feet of separation. Calling on residents will last up to an hour and is allowed to occur in their private rooms.

Vaccinated residents will be able to have a touch visit with a well-fitting mask with hand hygiene before and after. Unvaccinated residents will need to have family or friends wear full personal protective equipment when entering their rooms for extra protection. Anyone coming to either site must go straight to residents rooms, and are unable to be in the hallways or main dining rooms. Residents’ room doors must stay open during visitation for monitoring.

As of Wednesday, March 10, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued advice regarding care centers and assisted living facilities. Visitation within each assisted living can be conducted through different means based on a facility’s structure and residents’ needs. That includes in resident rooms, dedicated visitation spaces, outdoors and for circumstances beyond compassionate care situations.
