Focus on 4-H and FFA at Nemaha County Fair on August 9 to 12
The 2020 Nemaha County Fair is proceeding with a number of revisions from previous years. The exposition is scheduled Sunday, Aug. 9 through Wednesday, Aug. 12 at the fairgrounds along Highway 75 in Auburn.
The Nemaha County Agricultural Society (NCAS) has been taking precautions to have a fun and safe fair for everyone to enjoy. It thanks everyone for hanging in there during this time.
Some prefair contests have taken place with others cancelled. Communications was virtual. Cat and companion animals and food revue occurred in June. Last week was horticulture and wildlife judging.
Preceding and Throughout the Fair
Everyone is invited to help setup and cleanup the facilities Wednesday night, Aug. 5. Thursday, Aug. 6, 4-H’ers, FFA members and Clover Kids enter static exhibits. Times will be assigned to each family. Prefair judging of 4-H and FFA entries is Friday, Aug. 7. The 4-H Building will be closed that day. Clover Kids is non-competitive. Hands-on activities are offered to children ages 5 through 7 intending to build a variety of life skills.
