Family of the Late Donald G. Kruger Uses Memorial Monies for Tushla Baseball Field Sign

Sept. 1 marked the dedication of a granite sign placed at Tushla Baseball Field in memory of Don Kruger, an avid baseball fan who passed away in April of 2018.

The memorial consists of three panels, inscribed on both the front and back. It has been placed near the concessions stand at Tushla Field.

The panels on the front side include The Baseball Prayer; the phrase “For the Love of the Game” along with graphics; and a short history of the Auburn Baseball Field.

The panels on the back side include more graphics and these baseball sayings that can also be applied to other aspects of one’s life:

Keep your eye on the ball.

Put me in Coach, I’m ready to play; and Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Atop the monument is a granite baseball centered over the words Tushla Baseball Field.
