Extension Resources Exist to Help Those Affected by Flooding

Gary Lesoing, Nebraska Extension-Nemaha County educator, wants everyone affected by the weather catastrophe facing Nebraska to please know that our thoughts are with you. The Extension staff wants to share with you some resources that might help you or someone you know through the difficult time. Nebraska Extension Flood Resources: Available at www.flood.unl.edu. The webpage provides information on a number of topics. Those include: assessing crop damage after a flood, well water safety, managing a septic system during a flood, preparing a home that will flood and clean up after a home is flooded. Other resources that might be of help: Nebraska Counseling, Outreach and Mental Health Therapy (COMHT) Program: at 1-800-464-0258. It offers no-cost vouchers for confidental mental health services for persons affected by the rural crisis. Nebraska Farm Hotline/Rural Response Hotline: at 1-800-464-0258.
