Dr. Michael Evans to Assume Peru State Presidency on July 1

Wednesday morning, March 24, Dr. Michael Evans was unanimously approved as the 34th president of Peru State College (PSC).

The Nebraska State Colleges System (NSCS) Trustees made the announcement at the college’s Performing Arts Center. Evans most recently has served as the vice president for Academic Affairs and chief academic officer for Southern New Hampshire University’s campus-based program. The school is at Manchester, N.H. He will assume the presidency Thursday, July 1. Evans succeeds Dan Hanson, who is retiring after 12 years leading Nebraska’s first college. Hanson’s last day will be Wednesday, June 30.

“I’m deeply happy to be invited to serve here. I went into education because of meaningful people in my life. They helped me become who I am, establish a voice and build a future. Peru State College has a strong supportive community, small classes and promotes engagement. It will have a profound impact on students for years to come,” Evans said following his announcement.
