David Patton, New Auburn Public Schools Supt., Wants to Build Positive Relationships with Staff, Community

The strong reputation of Auburn Public Schools (APS) as well as the community interested David Patton in the district’s superintendency.

“I got a lot of positive feedback when I called around. There’s a lot of great support for the teachers and the community. Two weeks before my December interview, I drove through town and talked with a number of people. I got a sense of community. That’s exciting to me. I believe it’s going to be a good fit for my personality and the personality of the community,” Patton said Monday afternoon, Jan. 20.

He will assume the superintendency Wednesday, July 1. Patton was in Auburn during the district staff’s inservice day. During three breakout sessions, he recalled having the opportunity to meet with most of APS’ elementary and secondary faculty.
