County Legionnaires Support Law Enforcement Maintaining Order

Monday morning, Oct. 26, Sheriff Brent Lottman was presented a letter from Gary Wooten of Wilber, American Legion Department of Nebraska commander. Wooten was voicing the Nebraska American Legion’s support to maintain law and order.

The letter of support was sent out in the August newsletter to all 355 American Legion posts in Nebraska, including Post 23 in Auburn and Bender-Reese Post 330 of Johnson. It was also forwarded to all department, district and county officers and Department Committee members. The state commander asked everyone to share the letter with their local law enforcement agencies and show the Nebraska American Legion would assist and support law enforcement in any capacity they need. The letter was drafted following a call to defund the nation’s police after various incidences of unrest earlier this year.
