Commissioners Amend 2018-2019 Budget to Include Disaster Fund
Wednesday morning, May 1, the Nemaha County Commissioners adopted a resolution amending the 2018-2019 county budget.
It transfers $100,000 from the inheritance fund to a new disaster fund. The move allows tracking expenses and receipts relating to the spring flood. All receipts received from other sources will be used to reimburse the inheritance fund.
No one spoke in favor or against amending the budget during a public hearing preceding adoption of the resolution. Creating the disaster fund is a recommendation of Deann Haeffner, assistant deputy state auditor. No such fund had been established following 2011 flooding along the Missouri River.
