Brownville July 4 Freedom Day Celebrates Nebraska, Peru State

The Sesquicentennial of Nebraska and Peru State College is being celebrated Tuesday, July 4, at Brownville.

The annual Freedom Celebration includes events for all ages.

The day starts with the 15th annual Freedom Run.

Packet pick-up begins at 6 a.m. at the start and finishing point which is on the south side of the East Main Street and Highway 136 intersection.

The fee for anyone registering that day will be $40 per person. There will be a large parking area available at the east side of the starting/finishing line. At 7 a.m. the five-kilometer, 10 kilometer and half marathon races will all get underway.
