Auburn Rotarians Hear from Gov. Ricketts and State Senator Slama

ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 13, Governor Pete Ricketts and State Senator Julie Slama (Legislative District 1) visited communities throughout southeast Nebraska. They held a town hall in Falls City where Sen. Slama provided updates from her first term in the Legislature, and the Governor spoke about his vision to grow Nebraska. Gov. Ricketts also highlighted the strong economic development occurring across the state. Following the town hall, Gov. Ricketts and Sen. Slama spoke with members of the Auburn Rotary Club during their luncheon about a variety of topics including flood relief and mental healthcare (pictured above). This March, Nebraska won its third consecutive Governor’s Cup. Each year, Site Selection magazine awards a trophy to the state with the most economic development per capita. Nebraska had more new projects than the states of South Dakota, North Dakota and Kansas combined. The elected officials finished the day at Cargill in Nebraska City where they toured the facility and met with Cargill teammates.
