Auburn Council Moves Ahead on Process To Eventually Hire a City Administrator

Auburn City Council approved several matters during the Nov. 9 regular meeting.

The council okayed a job description for City Administrator and the appointment of an interview/hiring committee for the City Administrator position.

The City Administrator will be responsible for the overall coordination of activities among the governmental departments along with the planning, designing and implementing economic development strategies in conjunction with the Auburn Development Council. Those City departments include Fire, Parks & Recreation, Library, Public Works and Administration. Public Works — including electric, sewer, water and wastewater treatment systems and services — will continue to be managed by the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) and its general manager.
