Auburn BPW Supports Studying Feasibility of Providing Peru Water

The Auburn Board of Public Works favors investigating how feasible it would be to supply water service to the City of Peru.

Wednesday, Oct. 16, board members Chuck Knipe and Dan Buman along with General Manager Dave Hunter reported on meeting with Peru Mayor Darren Reeves. All discussed Peru’s water options. Knipe and Hunter agreed to keep all board members informed on the issue. The board believes supplying water to Peru has high potential to have a positive impact on Auburn ratepayers.

“Peru is a good neighbor. Peru State College (PSC) is vital to all of Southeast Nebraska. We need to assure we have water to supply both cities (Peru and Auburn),” Knipe related.
