Auburn BPW Ranks Fifth Nationally in Best Tasting Drinking Water Contest

“We got into the final five and ended up placing fifth in the nation. Still a good finish in my books.” Dave Hunter, Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) general manager commented after the utility’s water department high finish in the United States’ largest drinking water taste contest.

The Great American Water Taste Test occurred Wednesday, Feb. 5, during the National Rural Water Association’s annual Rural Water Rally in Washington, D.C. Finalists had been announced Tuesday, Feb. 4.

BPW qualified for national honors after its water department was recognized for Best Tasting Water. That was conferred in March 2019 at the Nebraska Rural Water Association annual conference in Kearney.
