APS Board Has Scheduled January 9th Special Mtg. Involving Superintendent’s Position and Reassignment of Duties

According to information received by the newspaper, an altercation took place in Auburn High School on Wednesday, Dec. 12, involving two students.

Regarding those events a video emerged of the fight and was shared with some APS students and others by an Auburn High student, who recorded the video at his residence. On Thursday, Dec. 13, Superintendent Kevin Reiman was reviewing video of the altercation at home when it was shared by a family member.

On Friday afternoon, Dec. 21, during a special meeting, the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education unanimously approved selecting a letter designated as option No. 2. It authorized Board President Ryan Jones to deliver the letter to the affected administrator. It also designated both Jones and Dr. Michael Zaruba, board vice president as board secretary designee for the purpose of receiving a request for a hearing.
