Kennedy Successfully Ran Write-In Campaign
for District #29 School Board

Stephen Kennedy recently ran a successful write in campaign for a seat on the Board of Education for School District 29.
“When Daryl Obermyer chose to not file and run again for his seat on the Board I sat down and really thought if this was something I wanted to get into at this time.” Kennedy said during a recent conversation with this reporter.
Kennedy went on to say, “If I was going to do it I needed to do it now while I had a vested interest in improving the school system as my kids are in District 29 Schools. As I work daily with farmers and agriculture producers throughout District 29 as a representative of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, I feel that I will be able to bring their views and concerns to the board.”
Stephen looks forward to working with the state on budgeting concerns, and working with our neighboring school districts to address the problems and resulting challenges the board must face.
Kennedy would like to encourage the community at large to get more involved in the day-to-day workings of the local school board, and to spend time to find out about the community where they live and work.
Write-in campaigns are not generally successful because people as they are voting do not remember to put your name down, do not spell your name correctly, or put your name on the wrong line; any one of which will disqualify that particular vote for a person seeking election by that means.
