Bertha Dunlap - September 23, 2012

1931-2012
Bertha Mae Dunlap, daughter of Jesse H. Dunlap and Daisy P. (McCool) Dunlap, was born near Watson, Missouri on May 24, 1931. She was one of six children born to this union.
She graduated from High School in 1949 at Westboro, Missouri.
Bertha lived in several communities throughout her life including these in Nebraska: Stella, Nemaha, Auburn, Madison and Norfolk.
She was united in marriage to Carroll Douglass in Sidney, Neb. Her husband Carroll passed away in 2003.
Bertha raised five children, was a member of the WIBC Bowling League from 1968 to 2000 and was on a champion team for five years. Bertha loved bowling and was awarded many trophies.
Due to failing health, Bertha entered the Golden Living Center in Norfolk in 2005. It is there that on Sunday, September 23, 2012 Bertha passed away having reached the age of 81 years, three months and 30 days.
Welcoming her to heaven are her parents; two brothers, Jesse Dunlap Jr. and Kenneth Dunlap; granddaughter Crystal Schwarting; and two great- grandchildren, Auburn and Cameron Lindsay.
Left to celebrate her life are her children: Deb Moore and husband Darrell of Wayne, Neb.; Paula Schwarting of Lakeland, Fla.; Will Douglass and wife Barb of Pierce, Neb.; Cindy Thomsen of Norfolk; Beckie Stine of Vallejo, Calif.; her brothers and sisters, Vivan Dunlap of Stapleton, Neb.; Daisy Anderson of Humboldt, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dunlap of Oshkosh, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. James Dunlap of Lake George, Colo.; Ms. Erma Jean Crowe of Tuscan, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be a small memorial service at the Golden Living Center in Norfolk on Oct 7, at 9:30 a.m.
