Charley E. Davis, age 54, of Nebraska City, Neb., passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, Neb.
Charley was born on January 30, 1958 in Auburn, Neb., the son of Clarence Eugene and Sylvia Ladell (Byrom) Davis. He attended school and graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School at Stella, Neb. with the class of 1976. He was united in marriage to Laurie A. Hellerich on October 12, 1985 in Nebraska City, Neb.
Charley worked for the Nebraska City Street Department for 16 years and then at WalMart for the past five years. He was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Davis of Nebraska City; children Megan Davis of Dunbar, Neb.; Ashley Davis of Nebraska City and Craig Davis of Nebraska City; four grandsons: Nathan, Braxton, Malenkai and Stuart; siblings Carol Gering of Auburn, Neb.; Gary Davis of Nebraska City; Roger Davis and wife Betty of Branson, Missouri, and Deb Rakestraw and husband John of Nebraska City, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Pat Rakestraw in September of 2007.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Rodger Good officiating.
Burial followed at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
Memorials may be given to the family in Charley’s memory.
