Next Brownville Weekend Bridge Closure Set for July 30 – Aug. 2

The Missouri Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Roads, has announced that the next weekend closure of the U.S. 136 bridge over the Missouri River at Brownville, Nebraska is scheduled to take place Friday, July 30th (beginning at 6:00 p.m.) through Monday, August 2 (reopen at 6:00 a.m.) weather permitting.
During that weekend’s closure the contractor will be paving the concrete deck on the truss span over the Missouri River. The contractor plans to do this concrete pour during the nighttime hours and local residents may experience increased noise while this work is being completed.  Although the majority of the work on the bridge allows one lane to remain open, periodic weekend closures are necessary to facilitate repair work of the substructure. The repairs on the bridge are anticipated to be completed this construction season and two-way traffic will be reopened on the bridge in November or December.
