July 17 Concert in Brownville to Showcase Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jason Boland and the Stragglers

Those boys from Oklahoma, Cross Canadian Ragweed, will be making their way to Brownville on Saturday, July 17 for one of their last shows. As many of you may know, Cross Canadian Ragweed will be taking a break from life on the road to focus on their family lives.

Cross Canadian Ragweed’s genre can be described as ranging from Southern Rock’n’Roll to Red Dirt Country, and have even played The Grand Ole Opry. Together, Ragweed has sold over a million albums, signed a major label deal and sold out venues from New York to California. And, bar owner, Terry Jones expects the same for this show in Brownville. They’ve broken attendance records along the way including one set by Willie Nelson at Lone Star Park drawing tens of thousands of fans and creating a traffic jam on I-35 for miles in each direction. Their reputation for sizable crowds helped them earn coveted spots sharing the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Kid Rock, ZZ Top, George Thorogood, Johnny Lang, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Allan, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and numerous others.

Ragweed’s newest released album, Happiness and All The Other Things, utters a natural Southwestern rock style. Their previous album, Mission California, scored #6 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #30 on the Top 100 week of release, and important to mention they did this all without the benefit of major radio airplay. Cross Canadian Ragweed had a multitude of fans across the nation providing loyal support to the group, and in return throughout the years the band has been dedicated to their road work and delivering nutritious rock goods that keep the fans coming back for more. Bar owner, Terry Jones, expects loyal fans from all over the country to come and support Cross Canadian Ragweed but also hopes that local fans will get out there and show their support too.
And kicking off the night in Brownville on July 17 will be long time friends of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, whom they have shared the stage with in the past, wrote songs together, and is no stranger to Brownville. This will be Boland’s fourth trip to perform in Brownville, NE. Concert promoter, Terry Jones, feels very fortunate that his venue is one of the last tour sites for Cross Canadian Ragweed in 2010 and to be joined by Jason Boland and The Stragglers, he is very privileged and grateful. To add to a night of must see live music, will be local talents Ken Jones, Shawn Cole, and Seth T. Schaefer. The outside concert will be located two blocks north of TJ’s Tavern; gates open at 5:30 p.m. with lawn chairs and blankets welcome; and there will be a food vendor on-site provided by Hickory Road BBQ.  Tickets on sale for $30.00 at TJ’s Tavern, Brownville, NE, Hickory Road BBQ, Auburn, NE, Shooter’s Bar, Peru, NE, Nemaha’s Only Stop, Nemaha, NE, and CD Warehouse, Lincoln, NE. Especially due to it being one of Cross Canadian Ragweed’s last shows and to pair them with Jason Boland and The Stragglers, it is certain to be a sold out show.
