Bloodmobile Will Next Visit Nemaha Co. on May 24-25; Gallon Pins

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will next visit Auburn on May 24-25. People will be able to give “the gift of life” from 12 noon until 6 p.m. on Monday and 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 next Tuesday at the Nemaha County 4-H Building.
The Red Cross encourages Americans to observe Memorial Day, a day to honor those who died serving our country, by donating blood. “The Red Cross partners with many VA medical centers in the United States, providing lifesaving blood products to veteran patients,” said Patricia Rubens, CEO of Midwest Region Blood Services. “Your blood donation can help make a difference in the lives of veterans and other patients in need.”
For more than 50 years, the Red Cross has been an innovator and leader in transfusion medicine and research. Started as a relief effort to provide lifesaving plasma and blood for soldiers during WWII, the Red Cross Blood Services has grown — collecting and distributing nearly half of the nation’s blood supply.
Simply call 274-3058 or 274-3507 or 1-800-448-3543 or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.
Those receiving pins during the March blood drive in Nemaha County were:
One gallon: Maureen Koso, Paul Lillenas, Greg Moran, Andrew Perry
Two gallons: Barb Borland, Mary Glathar
Three gallons: Dennis Crawford
Four gallons: Theresa Shelton
Six gallons: Ken Fike
Ten gallons: Sam Smith
