Peru Town Hall Meeting Feb. 7 to Review Park Avenue Improvements
Peru community residents are invited to participate in a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Peru City Hall, 614 5th St.
At this public meeting, representatives of the City of Peru, Peru State College (PSC) and the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) will be looking to review the proposed plan for Park Avenue improvements.
The intent is to gather interested persons for a focused discussion, information sharing, and input session.
Leadership from the City of Peru and from Peru State College eagerly encourages participation from all sectors of the Peru community. Officials of the city, PSC and NDOR have been jointly exploring options for Park Avenue for more than a year. One of the items at the heart of this discussion is the NDOR transferring ownership of this street segment to the City of Peru.
Last November, city and college officials presented information to the Nemaha County Commissioners on widening Park Avenue from Casey’s General Store to the Little Red Schoolhouse on the PSC campus.
If you have specific input or concerns about Park Avenue that you would like to raise but you will not be able to be in attendance on Feb. 7, you are encouraged to contact City Hall &/or the Mayor and City Council before this session. City Hall may be reached at 402-872-6685.
