Gloria Henry was born February 3, 1928 and died January 25, 2016. Formerly of Peru, Nebraska; Vermillion, S.D. and Bullhead City, Ariz.; Gloria was currently residing in Elkridge Assisted Living in Elkhorn, Nebraska. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Danna and Tom Mosser of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Lanna Machmuller of Kearney, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and sister Gerilee Gustason of Sequim, Washington. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Ramon (Dutch) Henry; her son, Jeffrey Lynn Henry; brothers Bill and Dale; and sisters Jane and Maxine. Gloria was a fascinating and innovative woman. Besides being a wonderful mother and terrific partner to her husband Dutch, Gloria helped Dutch manage the Peru Hunt Club for 25 years and the Henry Fish Market. Later Gloria helped run and manage their company, Big River Construction. Gloria obtained her college bachelor of science degree in teaching at the age of 44. At age 50 she earned a cosmetology degree, opening her own salon Gloria’s Kut and Kurl. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a wonderful seamstress, cook, 4-H instructor, Cub Scout leader, and loving mother and grandmother. A positive role model who will be missed. The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to Serene Care Hospice for their wonderful care of Mom. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Reichmuth Funeral Home, 21901 W. Maple Rd. in Elkhorn, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow the service. There will be no visitation. Internment will be at the Peru Cemetery at a later date.
