Marilyn June Willis was born August 17, 1939 in Aspinwall, Nebraska, which is now a part of Auburn. She was the daughter of Sidney Leonard and Ella Darlene (Cook) Byrom and lived in Auburn before moving to Nebraska City. Marilyn married Lowell Alan Willis June 25, 1959 in Nebraska City. Alan died December 27, 1991. Marilyn worked at the Pendleton Factory in Nebraska City for 34 years before she retired. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Survivors include her son, Michael Alan Willis and wife Sarah of Ankeny, Iowa; daughters, Brenda Blair and husband James of Swan, Iowa and Jennifer Murray and husband Jason of Nebraska City; five grandchildren; sister, Glenda Palmer of Auburn; brother Sidney Byrom of Springfield, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Alan Willis; sisters, Alice Gerber and Donna Henson; father in law and mother in law, Alvin and Dorothy Willis and step mother in law, Doris Willis. Marilyn died January 28, 2016 at Duff’s Memorial Home in Nebraska City at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 11 days. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1, 2016 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Terry Weible offering words of comfort. Memorials are suggested to Duff’s Memorial Home.
