On Wednesday, Aug. 22, Nemaha County Commissioners approved an amended agreement on the law enforcement building contract with the City of Auburn.

The rent which the city pays will be $50,000 per year from Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2014; and $51,000 from Oct. 1, 2014 to Sept. 30, 2015.

Two amendments were approved with the Nemaha Natural Resources District on the Buck Creek Watershed Structure near Peru.

A resolution was approved to vacate a county road in Lafayette Precinct, northwest of Brock. The road connected to the east bank of the Little Nemaha River. 

Commissioners also approved writing a letter of support to the Nebraska Environmental Trust on the invasive weed grant application for Five Rivers Weed Management.

Two Windstream applications to install communications facilities were approved. One involved Benton and Bedford precincts, and the other was in Glen Rock Precinct, south of Julian.

A permit was issued to Great Plains Communications to install fiber optic cable on designated county roads right of way.

An application from the Omaha Public Power District to install single phase overhead one mile south and one mile west of Peru was approved.

A road entrance application requested by Hawley Farms was approved. It is in Lafayette Precinct, south of Brock.

A resolution was approved subdividing a 1.89 acre tract of land in Benton Precinct for the Ella Bergmann Living Trust.

Farmers Coop was awarded the September fuel bids. Farmers Coop bid $3.81 for No. 2 Diesel and $3.51 for unleaded. Lueders Petroleum bid $3.865 for No. 2 Diesel and $3.555 for unleaded.

The 2012 county officials and office directors inventories were approved.
