Nelda Anna Cecelia (Kock) Bischoff was born April 2, 1924 in Lincoln, the daughter of Hans and Bertha (Sothman) Koch. She married Arnold Bischoff February 7, 1947 in Talmage. Arnold died March 24, 2012. Nelda formerly lived in Lincoln, Syracuse and Cook before moving to Talmage. Nelda graduated from the Talmage High School in 1941. Nelda formerly worked at the Elgin Watch Factory in Lincoln before she married Arnold. She and Arnold worked together on the farm for many years. Nelda was an avid Husker fan and was an active member of the Talmage American Legion Auxiliary and Faith Lutheran Church, where she made blankets for the church. Nelda worked at the Talmage ball field for over 50 years. Survivors include her sons Donn Bischoff and wife Debbie of Maize, Kansas; Allen Bischoff of Talmage; daughter, Carol Fisher and her husband Ron of Johnson; grandchildren Nick and Heather Rinne, Mark and Michele Bischoff, Todd and Carrie Bischoff, Angie and Ken Mandl, Brad and Cheryl Bischoff, Jennifer and Jerry Manuel; great grandchildren Zachary, Kirsten, Barrett, Marisol, Caitlyn, Cameron, Courtney, Caleb, Mira and Adam; step grandchildren Russ Fisher, Lori and Jeff Colby; step great grandchildren Hayley and Jeff Murray, Reid Fisher and Shane Colby; step great great grandchildren Jaxson and Emerson; sister Marlene Royer and her husband Herman of Nebraska City. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Nelda died November 20, 2015 at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 18 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage with Rev. Glatha Rathjen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Cemetery or Talmage Rescue Squad. Online condolences may be expressed at Marshall Funeral Chapel of Nebraska City is in charge of arrangements.
