Board of Equalization of the County of Nemaha, State of Nebraska met on May 9, 2012 Commissioners Chambers, Nemaha County Courthouse, Auburn NE. Notice of meeting published in the Nemaha County Herald on May 3, 2012.  The agenda for the meeting was kept continually current and available for public inspection at the office of Nemaha County Clerk during normal business hours and also on the Nemaha County website ( HYPERLINK “http://www.nemahacounty.ne.gov” www.nemahacounty.ne.gov).  The agenda was held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the board and items for approval by the Board of Equalization.  The Board of Equalization has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting.
Chairman called the meeting to order at 11:45 a.m.  Roll call: Commissioner District 1 Bob Hutton, Commissioner District 2 Dennis Wittmann, Commissioner District 3 Marvin Bohling, County Clerk Joyce Oakley.  Also present: County Assessor Jana Smith.
Chairman Wittmann noted the posting of the Open Meeting Poster and the availability of the Open Meeting Handouts to the public.

Assessor Smith presented tax list correction #1204-11, JEMS Farms Inc. – personal property - clerical error, adding 3 items acquired in 2010 to 2011 property return, added tax $993.40.  Motion by Hutton, seconded by Bohling to approve tax list correction for JEMS Farms in the amount of $993.40 added tax.  Roll call vote: Wittmann, aye; Hutton, aye; Bohling, aye.
Assessor Smith presented tax list correction #1205-12, Brian & Amber Meyer – personal property – clerical error, pivot was to be removed from 2011 listing as it has been moved to Johnson County, deducted tax $743.28.  Motion by Bohling, seconded by Hutton to approve tax list correction for Brian & Amber Meyer in the amount of $743.28 credit.  Roll call vote: Bohling, aye; Hutton, aye; Wittmann, aye.
Assessor Smith presented tax list correction #1205-13, Allgood Chiropractic – personal property – added new decompression system purchased by owner in 2007, accountant did not include it on personal property return, added tax $333.94 for tax year 2009.  Motion by Bohling, seconded by Hutton to approve tax list correction for Allgood Chiropractic in the amount of $333.94 added tax for tax year 2009.  Roll call vote:  Hutton, aye; Wittmann, aye; Bohling, aye.

NEMAHA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING
MAY 9, 2011
County Board of Commissioners of the County of Nemaha, State of Nebraska met on May 9, 2012, Commissioner’s Chambers, Nemaha County Courthouse, Auburn NE for a regular scheduled meeting.  Notice of meeting published in the Nemaha County Herald on May 3, 2012. The agenda for the meeting was kept continually current and available for public inspection at the office of Nemaha County Clerk during normal business hours and also on the Nemaha County website.  The agenda was held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the board and items for approval by the Board of Commissioners.  The Board of Commissioners has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting.
Chairman Hutton called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m. Present for the meeting:  Commissioner District 1 Bob Hutton, Commissioner District 2 Dennis Wittmann, Commissioner District 3 Marvin Bohling and County Clerk Joyce Oakley.
Chairman Hutton noted the posting of the Open Meeting Poster and the availability of the Open Meeting Handouts to the public.

Public Notices for request for proposals for selling of a 1972 P&H Crane, 2 drag buckets, pile driver & leads, clam shell without leads were published in the Nemaha County Herald on April 31, 2012 and May 5, 2012.  The following sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the presence of the bidders:  Tim Holthus - Clamshell $750.00, Hammer & Leads $500.00, Rusty Bucket $110.00, Green Bucket $150.00, 1972 P&H Dragline $3,600.00 – total package $5,110.00.  Motion by Wittmann, seconded by Bohling to approve the bid from Tim Holthus in the amount of $5,110.00 for the 1972 P&H Crane, 2 drag buckets, pile driver, leads, clam shell.  Roll call vote:  Hutton, aye; Bohling, aye; Wittmann, aye.
Mark Mainelli, Mainelli Wagner & Associates presented the board with letters of recommendations for proposed of closing county road #49 (911 road number 737 Road) beginning at the South quarter corner of Section 5 T6N R13E or beginning 2640’ feet west of the corner of Section 5 T6N R13E then west to the east bank of the Little Nemaha River; and county road #117 (911 road number 632 Ave) beginning at the NW corner of the SW ¼ of Section 9 T6N R13E, south to the north bank of the Little Nemaha River.  Mainelli recommended to the Board of Commissioners to schedule public hearings on the vacating of both county roads.
Mainelli also presented preliminary bridge plans for Peru West BRO-7064(17) for Buck Creek NRD Watershed structure.
Heather Koeneke, Director Auburn Public Library visited with the Board of Commissioners on the additional parking for the library to be built on the city’s right of way (north side of library).  
Motion by Bohling, seconded by Wittmann to grant permission to Use County Property District 3 shop in Johnson for the Huff & Puff Garden Tractor pull on June 17, 2012 as requested by Ben Walters.  Roll call vote:  Wittmann, aye; Hutton, aye; Bohling, aye.
Motion by Wittmann, seconded by Bohling to sign the proclamation designating May 15, 2012 as National Law Enforcement day and May 13 through May 19, 2012 as National Law Enforcement Week.  Roll call vote:  Hutton, aye; Wittmann, aye; Bohling, aye.
Motion by Wittmann, seconded by Bohling to authorize the Nemaha County Clerk to advertise for sealed bid for the purchase of an equipment trailer for road departments.  Roll call vote:  Hutton, aye; Bohling, aye; Wittmann, aye.
