Laurin A. Winkelhake - January 10, 2013

1937-2013
Laurin Arthur Winkelhake, son of Arthur Winkelhake and Grace V. (Sherman) Winkelhake was born on June 15, 1937 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He was one of two sons born to this union.
Raised in Talmage, Neb., he was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Talmage. Laurin went to school in Talmage and graduated in 1955. After high school he attended both Peru State College and Dana College.
Laurin worked construction all his life. He worked to help build Cooper Nuclear power plant at Brownville, Neb., and worked construction on the railroad for many years. Laurin was also an avid sports fan.
He lived in Talmage most his life except for the last four years that he lived in Syracuse, Neb. Laurin passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home in Syracuse. He had reached the age of 75 years, six months, and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to mourn his passing are his brother Roger and wife Iris (Lyons) Winkelhake of Lincoln, Neb.; cousins Virginia Heinke of Lincoln, Neb.; Shirley Nowack of Higginsville, Missouri; and Alvin Winkelhake of Palm Springs, Calif. He is also survived by his extended Lyons family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 15 at Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, with Pastor Glatha Rathjen officiating.
Interment was in St. Paul Cemetery rural Talmage, Neb.
