Edith Reeves - December 24, 2012

1921-2012
Edith Reeves, daughter of James Brennan and Florence (Meyers) Brennan was born on June 10, 1921 in Douglas, Neb. She was one of 14 children.
She lived in Douglas till the age of 5, when her family moved south of Peru, Neb. She attended Honey Creek rural school through the 8th grade.
Edith was united in marriage to Daniel Reeves on October 30, 1938 in Seneca, Kansas. Five children were born to this union.
She was a member of the Brownville Christian Church and lived in the Peru area her entire life. In later years Edith moved to Auburn, Neb.
Due to ill health she entered the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Neb., and it was there that on Monday, December 24, 2012 Edith passed away having reached the age of 91 years, six months and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel in 1989, and one son Carroll Reeves.
She is survived by her children Beverly Perry (Gary) of Peru; Jerry Reeves (Nancy) of Nebraska City, Neb.; Richard Reeves (Sharon) of Nebraska City; Larry Reeves (Linda) of Jonesboro, Texas; daughter-in-law Marcia Reeves of Peru; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister Sara Reeves of Auburn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given in Edith’s honor to the Mt. Vernon Cemetery Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 29 at Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, officiated by Dr. Robert Chitwood.
Pallbearers were Dean Coulter, Phil Walker, Buck Jones, Floyd Reeves and Jerry McMann. James (Salty) Smith was an honorary pallbearer.
