Ruby Arlene Higgins - October 25, 2012
1913 - 2012Ruby Arlene Keyser, daughter of George A. Keyser and Minnie L (Strole) Keyser was born May 25, 1913 in rural Howe, Nebraska. She was one of two children born to this union.
Ruby attended Rosefield Country School and graduated from Stella High School in 1930.
At a young age she was baptized at the Auburn Christian Church. And joined the Stella Community Church.
Ruby was united in marriage to Charles D. Higgins on April 9, 1935 in Hiawatha, Kansas. She devoted her time to being a homemaker and farm wife. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn during 2010. It is there that she passed away having reached the age of 99 years, five months and one day.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 1987, and one brother Clarence Keyser.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the Stella Community Church in Stella, Neb., officiated by Pastor Greg Belew and Rev. Frank Zimmerman.
Carolyn Bredemeier was organist.
Flower assistants were Marilyn Findlay, Marjorie Dettmann and Donna Troester.
Pallbearers were Dan Kaufman, Ed Higgins, Glenn Troester, Jeff Findlay, David Moritz and Charles Hummel.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Coup, James Findlay and Conrad Sparks
Burial will follow at the Bedford Cemetery near Howe.
Hall Funeral Chapel of Auburn is in charge of arrangements for Ruby Arlene Higgins.
