Community Development Block Grant Hearing On Application for CDBG 10-DR- Downtown
Revitalization Phase II Grant Funds.
Notice is hereby given that on February 14, 2011 at 7:20 pm or as soon thereafter at the Auburn City Hall as part of the regular City Council meeting, the Auburn City Council will hold a public hearing concerning an application to the Development of Economic Development (NeDED) for a Community Development Block Grant.  This grant is available to local governments for community development activities.
The City of Auburn is requesting a total of $350,000 in CDBG funds for a CDBG 10-DR- Downtown Revitalization Phase II grant.  CDBG funded activities are to include: $333,000 in CDBG Funds to be matched with $111,000 for a maximum Project of $444,000 to Phase II activities implementing the Auburn Downtown Revitalization Plan; and $17,000 for Administrative costs.  The City of Auburn will provide $111,000 in matching funds.  No person s will be displaced as a result of CDBG activities.
The $350,000 in total CDBG dollars requested will meet the national objective of removing slums and blight, as the City of Auburn has conducted a formal blight and sub-standard study and this 10-DR- Project is focused on “Central Avenue Downtown” and the “Courthouse Downtown” along with the “Courthouse Avenue Connector” all of which were determined to meet the blighted and substandard definitions per Nebraska statues.

& Notice of Intent to Re-Use Program Income  From a Previous CDBG ED Award
Notice is hereby given that, on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 7:25  P.M. in the City Council Chambers, the City Council of the City of Auburn, Nebraska will hold a public hearing concerning the use of approximately $30,000 of program income from a previous ED  Community Development Block Grant  for a specific Relending to Amber Kinnaman dba Fresh Baked,  to finance construction for the commercial rehab of the 1st floor of an existing building located in the Court House Square Downtown located in Auburn, Nebraska.  
The proposed terms are 15 years at 0% interest.  For CDBG compliance purposes, the Project will generate/retain 1  full time equivalent job.   More that 51% of CDBG funds will benefit lower &/or moderate income persons as the jobs created will be either taken by or made available to LMI persons.  The City of Auburn is not contrib uting any local tax funds/local matching funds to the Project.  There will not be any displaced persons as a result of this activity.
