NOTICE OF MEETING
NEMAHA NRD BOARD
The Nemaha Natural Resources District will hold a public hearing Thursday, December 9, 2010, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the NRD headquarters, 62161 Hwy 136, Tecumseh NE, to receive comments on proposed changes to the District Park Regulations governing Nemaha NRD public recreation areas. Copies of the proposed regulations are available on the NRD’s website: www.nemahanrd.org or by contacting the NRD at (402) 335-3325.

November 15, 2010
The Board of Education of School District #29 of Nemaha County met on November 15, 2010 at the Auburn City Hall for the purpose of conducting the regular board meeting.    Notice of the meeting was duly published in the Auburn Newspapers.
President Beth Kernes Krause called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Roll call of members present were: Zaruba, Oestmann, Kennedy, Billesbach and Kernes Krause. Hemmingsen was absent.
Motion by Zaruba and second by Oestmann to approve the consent agenda that includes the minutes of the 10-11-10 regular meeting.  Roll call vote:  Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes) and Zaruba(yes).  Motion carried 5-0.
Visitors included: Wayne Chase, David Swanson, Kandi Rohrs, April Dickerson, William Dickerson and the Administrators.
Taryn Retzlaff and Jessica Paschal’s students gave presentations.
Bob Hemmingsen entered meeting at 7:05 p.m.
Patrons ask the school to start baseball.
A baseball presentation was given by Mr. Walker.
Motion by Kennedy and second by Zaruba that the Board approves the monthly claims in all funds as presented.  Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.

Motion by Kennedy and second by Oestmann that the Board approves the monthly financial report.  Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
Motion by Zaruba and second by Billesbach that the Board approve hiring a firm to tear down the old trailers at the middle school.  Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (no).  Motion carried 5-1.
Motion by Zaruba and second by Hemmingsen that the Board approve the Management Contract with Carla Mason of American Dream Realty.
Motion by Zaruba and second by Hemmingsen to amend the motion to consider pursuing a contract with Carla Mason of American Dream Realty not to exceed the proposed fee of $1000/month for the management of the theater and also to pursue a property management contract for the Avenue Grill and rental apartments not to exceed 10% of the total rental income. Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
Motion by Hemmingsen and second by Kennedy that the Board approve moving alternate education to the old middle school. Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
Motion by Zaruba and second by Kennedy to enter closed session at 7:55 p.m. to discuss the Superintendent’s evaluation and a resignation.  Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
Motion by Hemmingsen and second by Kennedy to leave closed session at 8:26 p.m.  Roll call vote: Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
Motion by Hemmingsen and second by Zaruba to accept the resignation of Superintendent Steve Schneider as written in the letter dated November 10, 2010. Oestmann (yes), Kennedy (yes), Billesbach (yes), Kernes Krause (yes), Zaruba (yes) and Hemmingsen (yes).  Motion carried 6-0.
President Beth Kernes Krause adjourned the meeting at 8:28 p.m.
The next regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education will be held on December 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Auburn Public Schools Central Office, 1713 J St., Auburn, NE. The agenda for the regular school board meeting shall be kept continuously current and shall be readily available for public inspection at the superintendent’s office during normal business hours.  All items on the board agenda are subject to discussion and/or board action.  The board may enter closed session regarding any item on the agenda, which is permitted by Nebraska Statute.

The Board of Commissioners of the County of Nemaha, State of Nebraska will receive sealed bids at the Nemaha County Clerks Office, 1824 N Street, Ste 201, Auburn NE until 9:00 a.m. on the 8th day of December, 2010 for a “2011 Police Package – rear wheel drive sedan”.
