Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) customers will have the option of paperless billing sometime during 2015. Thursday, Dec. 11, the utility’s board approved the option which will be available to all residential and commercial accounts. Wende Bergmeier, accounting and finance manager and Dave Hunter, general manager, have been working on the issue. Bergmeier noted the systems are in place to offer paperless billing but time is needed to inform customers the option will be available. Hunter believed paperless billing is a good deal, BPW has offered electronic funds transfer for a long time. The utility currently has 714 such customers and it is anticipated most will likely enroll to go paperless.
