Inez Leora Jochim, 76, of Tecumseh, passed away August 11, 2014 at the BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to Fred and Magdalena “Lena” (Loptin) Jochim on May 18, 1938 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Inez was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up on a farm southwest of Tecumseh and  attended Rural School District #73. Inez graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1956. Inez was employed in the Housekeeping Department at the Tecumseh Care Center and Belle Terrace for 29 years. In her spare time, Inez liked to embroider and read, gardening, and planting flowers. She spent time doing word puzzles and enjoyed going on bus tours and stopping by the casinos occasionally. Inez enjoyed visiting  with everyone, especially the elderly. She also had a great connection with kids and loved playing games with them. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Jochim and wife Mary of Roca;  sister, Gertrude Jochim of Tecumseh; nieces, Marcella Jorgensen and husband Kent of Silverado, Calif., Susan Marshall and husband Mike of Lincoln, Gina Otjen and husband Don of Carson, Calif., and Kristi Roth and husband Mike of Lincoln; nephew, Larry Snowden of Lincoln, and great nieces and nephews, Vanessa and Bryce, Dominic, Isaiah and Isabelle.  Inez was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Richard, brother, Calvin and sisters, Irene Jochim and Mildred Snowden. Funeral services were held at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 with Pastor Eric Biehl officiating. Cheryl Meister, organist, accompanied soloist, Paula Clements, as she sang, “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross. Pallbearers were Mike Roth, Mike  Marshall, Richard Parrish, David Johnson, Royce Badertscher and Bruce Mahler. Honorary pallbearers were Alan Bossung, Jim Parrish, Craig Johnson, William Badertscher and Norman Baum.  Interment was in the Tecumseh Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family’s choice.
