This view of the Missouri River Bridge and Brownville elevator in the background photographed Monday afternoon shows floodwater in the foreground which isn’t ordinarily there.

As of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday the river stage was 41.88 feet or moderate flooding (37 to 42 feet) and the river was predicted to soon crest and begin to fall in. It was only about one foot below major flood stage, at which point federal levees could be topped. The river is predicted to remain in the moderate flood stage for at least the next week. Minor flooding begins at 32 feet.
