Vehicles Entered and Items Taken During Early Hours of June 1 or June 2 in Auburn
Last week, an unknown person(s) entered a number of unlocked vehicles which were parked near Auburn homes, according to Police Chief Dan White.
White said that during the late night hours of Tuesday, June 1 or the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 2, perpetrators “rifled through” approximately 20 vehicles with items reported missing from some but not all of them.
The area where the vehicles were entered ranged from F Street in the vicinity of 14th to 16th streets, then on west toward L Street and then on north to around 7th Street.
The parties involved entered the vehicles’ glove boxes and consoles and also took items which were in plain sight, according to White. Among things reported missing were money, GPS units, hand-held scanners and Ipods. It was unknown exactly how many vehicles were entered and how much was stolen because police were still receiving calls as of last Friday.
White urges anyone who might have noticed any suspicious activity during the above-mentioned hours to notify the police. He also encourages people to be sure to lock their vehicles at all times.
