Peggy Palmerton, 58 of Fairbury passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 19, 2014. Peggy was born October 27, 1955 at Hastings, Neb., the daughter of Samuel and Joanne Engelhardt Ellis. She formerly lived in Auburn and had been active in the Jaycees on both the local and state levels. Peggy is survived by daughters Angela Keim and Marty Rhoades of Lincoln, Michelle Decker and husband Kirk of Lincoln, and a son Zachary Palmerton and Emily Karnish of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; sisterin- law Donna Ellis of Auburn, Neb. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Peggy’s life will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Fay Hubbard officiating. Those attending are asked to dress in Nebraska Cornhusker attire or wear red. Interment will be in the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
