Under New Ownership No Changes in Service at Hall Funeral Chapel

The sale of Hall Funeral Chapel to Vaughn and Tina Wright of Beatrice will not result in any changes, said Vaughn Wright and Benjamin Hall.

Hall and his wife, Amanda, sold the business to the Wrights recently. The Halls have owned Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn since April 2001. They also own Hall Funeral Home, Falls City; and have mortuaries in Johnson and Talmage.
Name Will Stay the Same
There will be no name change. Benjamin Hall will continue to operate it.
“We will continue to provide the same care and compassion to families as we’ve done in the past. People whose funeral arrangements have already been made, that will not change,” Vaughn Wright said.
He said that the purchase was made so that Wright and Hall can cover for each other, work with each other and better serve residents of the area communities together.
“I had the opportunity to go with Vaughn and Tina. You’re able to serve a community better with more staff. We can help each other now. I’ve been on my own for almost 10 years. You’re on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s hard to be by yourself for a number of years,” Hall said.
Both Hall and Wright said that more families are prearranging funerals.
Hall said 50-60 percent of funerals are prearranged, mainly for peace of mind.
“The families know it’s taken care of,” Hall said.
Wright said that more people prearrange funerals for their loved ones more than themselves.
“It makes it easier at the time of death,” Wright said.
Wright has been a funeral director since 1983. He grew up in Alma, in south central Nebraska and graduated from Alma High School in 1980. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and attended mortuary college at Mount Hood College, Gresham, Ore.
The Wrights have four children. Lexa, 19, is a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Elizabeth, 13, is a seventh grader at Beatrice Middle School. Jacob, 11, is a sixth grader at Beatrice Middle School. Joseph, 9, is a fourth grader at St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
Wright worked for a funeral home in Lincoln seven years before he got the opportunity to purchase Harman-Wright Mortuary at Beatrice and Plymouth. In a partnership with Todd Dierberger and Joe Davis, he also owns Wherry Mortuary at Humboldt, Pawnee City and Tecumseh.
