Notification of
Community Development Block Grant Hearing On Application for CDBG 10-DR- Downtown
Revitalization Phase I Grant Funds
Notice is hereby given that on March 8th, 2010 at 7:30 pm or as soon thereafter at the Auburn City Hall as part of the regular City Council meeting, the Auburn City Council will hold a public hearing concerning an application to the Development of Economic Development (NeDED) for a Community Development Block Grant.  This grant is available to local governments for community development activities.
The City of Auburn is requesting a total of $30,000 in CDBG funds for a CDBG 10-DR- Downtown Revitalization Phase I grant.  CDBG funded activities are to include: $27,900 in CDBG Funds for Activity Code 0630 to be matched with $9,300 for a maximum Project of $37,200 to conduct Phase I Planning to develop an Auburn Downtown Revitalization Plan; and $2,100 for Administrative costs.  The City of Auburn will provide $9,300 in matching funds.  No persons will be displaced as a result of CDBG activities.
The $30,000 in total CDBG dollars requested will meet the national objective of removing slums and blight, as the City of Auburn has conducted a formal blight and sub-standard study and this 10-DR- Project is focused on “Central Avenue Downtown” and the “Courthouse Downtown” along with the “Courthouse Avenue Connector” all of which were determined to meet the blighted and substandard definitions per Nebraska statues.
An initial draft of the grant application will be available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office 1101 J Street during regular business hours.  All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing scheduled for 7:30 pm 3-8-10, at City Council Chambers at 1101 J Street, at which time you will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the grant application.  Written testimony will also be accepted at the above referenced public hearing, and written comment addressed to City Clerk, 1101 J Street, Auburn, NE  68305 will be accepted if received on or before 7:30 pm 3-8-10.  If there are any questions regarding this application, please contact the City Clerk at (402) 274-3420 (during regular business hours); or Kevin Burnison, SENDD 862-2201 or via email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. County Board of Commissioners of the County of Nemaha, State of Nebraska met on February 24, 2010, Commissioner’s Chambers, Nemaha County Courthouse, Auburn NE for a regular scheduled meeting.  Notice of meeting published in the Nemaha County Herald on February 18, 2010. The agenda for the meeting was kept continually current and available for public inspection at the office of Nemaha County Clerk during normal business hours and also on the Nemaha County website.  The agenda was held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the board and items for approval by the Board of Commissioners.  The Board of Commissioners has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting.

Public Notice of renewal of Auburn Country Club Liquor License was published on January 17, 2010 in the Nemaha County Herald with February 10, 2010 as the deadline to receive written protests to the issuance of automatic renewal of said license. AUBURN, NEBRASKA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all persons owning or occupying lots or parcels of land in Street Improvement Projects Nos. 2008-1 and 2008-2 of the City of Auburn, Nebraska; that the Mayor and Council of the City will meet in the City Hall in said City on the 22nd day of March, 2010, at 5:15 o’clock p.m. for the purpose of considering and levying special assessments on the lots and parcels of land in said Projects. NOTICE OF TRUSTEE’S SALE
The following described property will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder at the East Front Door of the Nemaha County Courthouse, 1824 N St., Auburn, Nebraska on the 31st day of March, 2010 at 10:00 o’clock A.M.:
Lots Five (5) and Six (6), Block One Hundred Sixty-Seven (167) in Neal’s Addition, Peru, Nemaha County, Nebraska, more commonly known as: 916 5th St., Peru, NE  68421.
The property is being sold “as is” and subject to any unpaid real estate taxes, assessments and any lien or interest superior in right which may affect the subject property.  The highest bidder will deposit $500.00 in cash or certified funds with the Trustee at the time of the sale, which shall be non-refundable, and the remaining amount due must be paid in cash or certified funds to the Trustee by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the sale; except this requirement is waived when the highest bidder is the current Beneficiary.  The successful bidder shall be responsible for applicable transfer fees or taxes including the documentary stamp tax.

INVITATION FOR BIDS
The Board of Public Works, Auburn, Nebraska will receive bids until 1:30 P. M., local time, March 15, 2010 at the Board of Public Works Offices, Auburn, Nebraska at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and all bid prices read aloud for furnishing one 47 Foot Hydraulic Digger Derrick Truck .
No bid may be withdrawn within a period of thirty (30) days after the date fixed for bid opening. Only firm (non-escalating) bids will be allowed.
Envelopes containing bids shall be sealed and will be accompanied by a warranty statement and all catalog and equipment descriptions to evaluate the units being furnished. The envelope containing the bid shall be marked as follows:

The Board of Public Works reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bids submitted.
