Jordan Broady, 2009 Johnson-Brock High School graduate, was named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Player of the Year announced on Saturday, Nov. 10, in conjunction with the MCAC Volleyball Tournament hosted by Bellevue University.

She was also among five Bellevue University Bruins volleyball players who earned first team All-Conference honors.
Broady is a four-time first team all-MCAC selection and ranks second in school history with 5,796 career assists and eighth with 136 service aces. Broady currently ranks third nationally with 1,494 assists this season in leading the Bellevue offense which ranks first nationally with 2,101 kills. She is the Bruins’ only senior.
During the 2012 season, Broady recorded 14 double doubles and five triple doubles, the first triple doubles of her four-year Bruin career. She earned eight conference Setter of the Week honors as a senior and 28 overall as a Bruin.
Coach Trish Siedlik’s Comments on Broady
“Jordan is part of an elite group. She not only was a four-time all-conference selection, but she has led this team to great things each and every year. She not only made herself better, but she made the team better. Even though Jordan is a setter, she is a major threat to teams and is well-known for her attacking. Opponents have to honor her as an attacker as well as deciding who she is going to get the ball to. Turning her loose on the attack more this year has opened up a lot of seams for our hitters. It definitely helped in big matches. Freshman year was maybe the toughest year she had to go through. However, with a tremendous amount of family support, she would not be here today without them. The Broady family was there for her every single match and championship. Jordan has a lot of volleyball left with us, I think, and I am excited to see her end on a high note in her career. I think she is too.
“Lastly, as a senior you learn a lot of things over the years and one of those things that she has held true this year is the importance of teammates.  Without them, she would be just your average setter. Getting the best out of your team as a setter by encouraging, and constant positive energy will get them to work harder. Jordan is that motivator,” Siedlik said.
Other All-Conference Selections
Other Bruins named to the first team were Symone Faulkner, Annie Benson, Meghan Evans, and Sydney DeBoer. Second-team honorees from Bellevue included Caitlyn Rueth and Sunny Bell. Freshman Beth Walker earned honorable mention accolades.
The Bruins garnered three of the four major awards as Faulkner was named the MCAC Freshman of the Year and Trish Siedlik earned MCAC Coach of the Year honors for the eighth time in her career.
Bellevue Qualifies for NAIA Tournament, Will Be Host of First Round Match
Bellevue swept Oklahoma Wesleyan and Waldorf Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10 in Bellevue to qualify for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) volleyball tournament. The Bruins won the MCAC tournament for the third consecutive year and sixth time overall.
The Bruins, 34-9 overall, will be host to Ottawa University Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at Bellevue University’s Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
It will be the second meeting of the season between the schools. The Bruins defeated Ottawa Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Baker Invitational.
The winner will advance to the 24-team NAIA Volleyball National Championship site Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 at the Tyson Event Center/Gateway Arena at Sioux City, Iowa.
Ottawa won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship match Nov. 10.
The Bruins take an 11-match winning streak to the tournament. Bellevue has qualified for six consecutive NAIA national tournaments. The Bruins have seven overall national volleyball tournament appearances with an 8-14 record. Bellevue has not won a national championship.
In her seven years as Bellevue’s head coach, Siedlik has led the Bruins to every MCAC Tournament championship match.
Bellevue was rated 23rd in the final NAIA volleyball ratings released Sunday, Nov. 11.
