The Brownville Concert Series is kicking off its sensational 22nd season with the return of its most popular cabaret couple, KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler.
The couple will present its newest show “Gershwin–Here to Stay,” a wonderfully buoyant tribute to George Gershwin. They will appear in cabaret at the Brownville Concert Hall Friday-Saturday, April 20-21

at 7:30 p.m. and in concert Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

Season passes for seven shows will be available through Friday, June 22. Cabaret tickets are $23. Concert tickets are $17, $12 for students. The Nebraska Arts Council, a state agency, www.nebraskaartscouncil.org, supports this program through a matching grant funded by the Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
The show’s astute musical pairings include “Who Cares?” with “They All Laughed”; “Sweet and Lowdown” with “Shall We Dance” and “’S Wonderful” wound around excerpts from “Rhapsody in Blue.” Their rendition of “How Long Has This Been Going On,” the Gershwin ode to delirious, non-platonic kissing, “is one of the few I’ve heard that emphasizes what the song is really about,” said Stephen Holden of the New York Times. The New Yorker called Sullivan “as vocally, comically and theatrically assured as contemporary cabaret performers get.” She recently appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C with Brian Stokes Mitchell in Broadway Today, at the Humanities Festival in Chicago with Dave Frishberg and at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall with Michael Feinstein. Sullivan is an annual headliner at the Oak Room of New York’s Algonquin Hotel, at Neue Galerie’s Café Sabarsky on Fifth Avenue, The Rrazz Room in San Francisco, Pizza on the Park and Jermyn Street Theatre in London. She was a guest star on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. Sullivan has seven albums in worldwide distribution.
“Mark Nadler seems to have been shot out of a cannon! Nadler is a singer-dancer-pianist Punchinello….The best commedia dell’arte in town!,” said Rex Reed of The New York Observer.  Nadler starred in and co-wrote the off-Broadway Gershwin revue, American Rhapsody, which was nominated for a Drama Desk and two Lucille Lortel Awards and received the Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) Award for Outstanding Musical Revue.  Additionally, he received the MAC award three years in a row for outstanding musical comedy performer.
