The arrival of springlike weather will be beneficial for area construction and remodeling projects.
Conversion of the building on 517 Central Avenue into commercial warehouse units started about a month ago, said Dave Moyer of Bulldog Realty, Auburn.

The building is across from Meyer-Earp.
The 300’ long building is being separated into 11 units. The units will be 25’ wide by 100’ deep. There will be two double size units. The units will be mainly commercial warehouses. Each unit will have its own electric meter, wiring, outlets and lights. There will be a 14’ wide by 12’ door in each unit. There will also be a 36” walk-through door, Moyer said.
“They will be as big as any downtown building. There will be enough space for (renters.) They can do any modifications they want. The doors will be uniform all the way down the building,” he said.
The units are 60 percent rented, Moyer said.
The exterior will be newly painted and the front drive area will be rerocked after construction is completed, he said.
Local contractors are working on the project, Moyer said. Nichols Masonry is working on brick work and cutting in garage doors. Brian LaVigne is working on garage door installation.
“We couldn’t lay the concrete block when it was cold. Now that the weather is cooperating, we’ll be moving,” Moyer said.
“We’re starting to get going now that the weather is nice,” said Marty Nichols of Nichols Masonry.
“It will be nice to see this whole building put back to use,” said Harold Nichols of Nichols Masonry.
Contractors are waiting for the steel to arrive. The project will be completed within 45 days, Moyer said.
